The Condux Tesmec narrow profile block is designed for stringing two or three bundled conductors. Manufactured from aircraft grade heat treated aluminum (A356.01-T6) that provides a lightweight and high strength design. The one-piece cast aluminum frame is over 25% lighter, is stronger and less likely to break compared to blocks utilizing welded extruded frames. The counter-weight fly gate design allows for quicker and more secure rope installs and offers a unique hinge for safer and more efficient cable removal during clipping operation. Field replaceable nylon sectors are standard and last longer than conventional neoprene or urethane linings saving you time and money. Special V-Groove profile urethane sectors for the installation of Twisted Pair Conductors, commonly referred to as T2® or VR2® are also available.

For helicopter applications, Condux Tesmec 2-3 bundle helicopter blocks are very versatile, especially when it comes to hanging options. They can be single pointed on one of the three hanging points or a yolk plate can be used. This allows the block to be configured in a way that works best with the specific job site requirements.

It’s a cast frame design, manufactured from aircraft-grade heat-treated aluminum (A356.01-T6). That material and manufacturing option provides a lightweight and high strength design. The cast frame is stronger versus a welded extruded frame. The casting takes out many of variables that take place in a manual process like welding. Casting results in incredible consistency which translates into reduced failure rates in the field.

The way the counter weight fly gate opens allows for faster clipping. The fingers in the gate are actually bi-directional. Which means no matter how these blocks are mounted, the headboard can come through from either direction. This eliminates the possibility of crews hanging blocks backwards and having to go re-hang the blocks. That is not a concern with bi-directional blocks.

The blocks also feature sealed bearings which do a better job of keeping dirt, dust, water and other contaminants out of the block’s inner workings than other block designs on the market. The sealed bearing extends the life of your block.

Condux Tesmec 2-3 bundle helicopter blocks are the only ones with field-replaceable nylon or polyurethane sectors. Rather than resurfacing the blocks, damaged sectors can simply by replaced onsite. Sectors come in alternating colors, providing contractors with a clear view of them rotating during conductor installation.

Nylon sectors are designed for use with standard conductor. V-groove polyurethane sectors work with twisted pair conductor, T2® or VR2®. The important thing with twisted pair conductor is the profile of the sector needs to support the conveyance of the conductor through the sheave. So the groove radius is important, as is the profile width. The material is polyurethane because it’s softer than other materials. If the material is too hard and flat, the conductor will sit in the bottom of the sheave and it will push the twist of the conductor back and damage it.
