The Continuous Line Puller or CLP, is designed specifically for reconductoring projects. It’s designed to pull off and process all of the old conductor without stopping.

The unit consists of a pulling module and a cutting module in one, self-contained unit. The pulling module is rated to 11,240 lbf. It is, in essence, a hydraulically powered cable puller that is used to remove existing conductor, right off the spans including joints. The unit then feeds that conductor into the cutting module where it is cut up into manageable pieces, ready to recycle. 

First, the CLP reduces the amount of equipment needed during reconductoring. It’s one piece doing several jobs. Second, it reduces the labor requirement and the number of man-hours per project. And third, it’s a significantly safer approach to reconductoring. By eliminating the need to handle reels of old conductor, the increased the safety factor several fold.
